Profile
Undergraduate Studies at the University of Athens, Department of German Language and Literature (BA in German Studies, Major in Translation in 1995). Postgraduate Studies at Saarland University, Department of Applied Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting (PhD in Translation Theory, Minor in Machine Translation and German as a Foreign Language (DaF) in 2001). He has worked as free-lance translator, interpreter and language teacher for Greek, German and English in Athens and Saarbrücken from 1992 – 2002. He has taught as teaching assistant at Saarland University (2000 – 2001) and, since 2003 at the University of Cyprus. He has held a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) stipend for postgraduate studies (1998 – 2000) and has been appointed Academic Coordinator of the MA in Conference Interpreting at the University of Cyprus (2004 – 2007). He speaks Greek, English, German and French and has basic knowledge of Spanish, Italian and Turkish.
